I have over eight years experience gained across Australia, the UK and North America producing innovative and creative user-centered interactive experiences for web and mobile.
My primary role at Nokia was Lead Visual Designer for the Symbian Nokia Store (Formally Ovi Store) as well as this I also worked across MeeGo & S40 devices. As a key member of the Vancouver UX team I worked along side the Lead Interaction Designer and with the London Central Design team and Vancouver R&D to see the Store client from initial concept through to release.
Leveraging the skills acquired in the UK, I worked successfully as a freelance designer for a number of major clients in the Australian market, including two leading digital advertising agencies, NetX | Clemenger BBDO (Sydney) and Sputnik Agency (Melbourne).
Typically, I worked on briefs that were challenging with a high degree of urgency. They demanded capability across various disciplines, including web- and mini-site design, interface design, web application design, EDM template design and online advertising. These roles required strong communication skills and creativity to ensure that customer requirements were exceeded and both budget and deadlines achieved.
Clients: Tourism Western Australia, Johnson & Johnson, Gillette, HBA, GE Money, GMHBA – Frank, Sanitarium, Don Smallgoods.
Working for Steel was a rewarding and invaluable experience, given the wealth of knowledge this independent agency (UK Top Ten) has gained over its twenty-five year history. I was able to take ownership of my projects by starting at the ground floor, analysing the client’s requirements, developing the information architecture, wire framing though to finished art, user testing and delivery. I worked closely with front- and back-end developers to ensure the best possible solution was achieved on time and on budget.
Whilst at Steel I worked across a number of large-scale projects for both UK and European markets and was instrumental in numerous new business wins, including a very competitive 10-way pitch between UK and continental-based agencies, which culminated in Steel winning the redesign of Sea France’s global website, seafrance.com. Apart from fulfilling my duties as a Senior Designer, I was also a valued team member across the entire agency and wherever possible took the initiative to improve processes, working environments and creativity agency-wide.

Hired to develop a motion graphics piece for the Motorola U9. Upon its completion, I was asked to stay on and provide strategic insight and develop concepts for Orange UK.
Clients: Motorola, Orange.
My first job in London landed me in the hallowed offices of 80 Charlotte St. I was given a demanding brief that was a serious concern for the agency – to design a comprehensive look and feel for the flirty new social networking site www.foom.com. To the delight of the Saatchi leadership team, I took the site from basic wireframes to final artwork, and achieved final sign-off and approval from the client under time and budget. I was invited to stay on and subsequently worked on a number of projects for Visa.
Clients: Foom, Visa.
Working with junior designers and technical developers, I produced a number of innovative and exciting online solutions, ranging from mini-sites to full-scale e-commerce websites and online ads. I also created virals such as the ‘UKNone’ for STA Travel and Visit Britain, which was short-listed out of eighty entries down to one of two finalists for the MADC Award for Best Digital Advertisement in 2007. I contributed to several new business wins including Australian Unity & Musashi. I also produced the Sputnik Agency B&T award submission, which resulted in Sputnik achieving the coveted ‘B&T Interactive Agency of the Year’ title.
A valued member of the Sputnik team, I chaired the monthly all-staff meeting and introduced new procedures to improve communication & morale across the agency.
Clients: Google, Miele, World Vision, STA Travel, Visit Britain, Holden, RACV, iiNet, Origin Energy, Australian Unity, Seek, Australian Conservation Foundation.
Working at Factory212 was a great experience and taught me the meaning of working under pressure. The Organisation was aptly named because at times it did feel more like a factory than an Online Marketing Agency.
Working directly under the Creative Director, I helped this start-up produce a tremendous amount of quality creative in a short period of time. Multiple new business wins and record turnover were the result of a very tight hard working team, a lot of coffee and many late nights.
